The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine, or the slowest form of poison. - Dr. Ann Wigmore, ND

My personal rabbit hole into creating a healthy lifestyle (and most importantly: a healthy mind!) happened almost by accident several years ago. Newly divorced, empowered and sailing high on celebrated independence, I wanted to be in my best single-mom health and was tired of slugging from one day to the next. I didn't know where to start but had read for years about removing fake, processed and commercialized junk food & drinks from my diet.

Almost immediately, I lost weight, had more energy and a sugar/carb brain fog lifted. Over time (and not without bumps and bruises), I was able to radically improve my overall wellness by making healthy changes not only in my diet and lifestyle, but most importantly my personal psyche ... by understanding what good nutrition and life balance really means.

I learned how to listen to my body (both intuitively and via professional training in holistic wellness coaching) in order to know what it needs. I learned the mindful and emotional aspects of eating, and work each day to identify what my body (or Life) is seeking in order to keep my bio-individuality's needs in balance. I learned that taking care of ME comes first because feeling good is not just about changing eating choices and habits: it is ALL about being empowered to change the way you think and feel about food AND yourself.

As a corporate-working single parent, I intimately know the challenges of finding a working balance of family, career, home, personal, play, life, spirit, exercise and self-care ... all while trying to find the time to cook, shop and eat smart. I also know first-hand the great amount of invested time and personal dedication it takes to become an educated food consumer and creator of your own destiny.

Everyone should be excited about the power that food has in creating positive health and most importantly, the power WE have to choose the foods that are put into our bodies every day. WE make these choices. Everyday WE re-choose what to put into our bodies: everyday, it's OUR decision. The power lives in US.

And yes: what we eat, think and feel really does make us what we are from the inside out. The food we are currently eating and thoughts we are currently thinking has everything to do with (and can pretty much predict) where we are going. We choose our destiny by our very own choices, every single day.
